Word Art :D

Our next project we did was called: Word art. This was another project that included a lot of thinking and creativity. What it is, is, you are drawing the word you have chosen but then somehow putting the actual letters inside and hidden in the picture. So this is what we did:
Step 1: We had to choose a good word that wasn't to long or too short so that we could fit all the letters into the picture. And then we sketched it out.
Step 2: After we had go our idea and what we are going to do to make this all work we start re-drawing it but only bigger, so that it can fit onto a large piece of paper where it will be displayed. This was also not a drawing it was done by a collage.
Step 3: After we have cut everything we had drawn out and stuck it into place we glued it to make finish it all up. And there you have it our Word art!
I think this project was a really interesting project to do because, if the drawing is interesting enough for people to look at it. And then even look at it long enough so that they can realize that 'Hey it says (whatever your picture it)' Anyways i just thought it was really cool to have the word hidden in your picture!
Here are some other examples that i have found:

iskins Project Video :)

Here is our video for the iskins project!
Its shows what we thought about the project and what it would look like if we got it printed and stuck onto an itouch. Here is how we made our actual iskin designs:
Step 1: We had to make a draft of 4 different types of designs. They were, funky and my own which would be your own style of design. Elements which would be the 4 elements of nature: water, fire, earth and air. Also Animals which would be somethings to do with animals. And last it wouldbe pollution, which would just be some way of showing pollution.
Step 2: We had to choose one of those 4 designs color it on the draft to test some colors and then copy it onto a bigger piece of paper and color it once again. This would be your final.
Step 3: We would then have to think of tag lines and choose one to go with your iskin. Then you would write you tag line as a title for the poster we are making to help advertise your design.
Step 4: We then put our poster together with the picture of the iskin and our tag line. The aim for this poster was to be able to catch peoples attentions and sell the image of our iskin!
In this project we also had to use the term: HURBE
which stands for
Harmony
Unity
Rhythm
Balance
Emphasis
The parts of HURBE we used in the project were, the balance in the picture with the designs and the colors. We also used Rhythm in the lines and shapes we used. In a way there could also be repetition in the picture if we were repeating the same pattern or shape over and over again. There was a little bit of emphasis in the colors we used to catch peoples eyes.
So here is the video Vanessa & I made together!
Hope you like it! Enjoy! :)

Tessallation's(:

Here in Design art 7 we have been working on a unit called tessellation's. One of the projects we did was a tessellation square. A tessellation is a pattern that is repeated over and over again to make a design. Mrs. Bammi introduced us to a famous math/artist named M.C Escher. In his art he used his math skills for the accuracy in his tessellation's. So our project was that we had to make a tessellation on a folded square and then trace that tessellation onto all four sides of that square. We had to redo these steps until we had at least eight of these tessellation squares. After tracing the squares we had to color them each the same colors so that they then looked exactly the same. lastly we glued them all together so that it looked like it was big design together!
